Property Management Expansion through Acquistions
Our client is a property management business that had expressed an interest in making strategic acquisitions in order to accelerate its expansion. Following meetings with the company to discuss the target businesses, EQ assisted in identifying the targets, assessing their potential and making direct approaches.
How we helped our client
Initially EQ worked with our client to assess the target businesses which would be the right strategic additions particularly in terms of number of properties under management and location. We took this proposition to the company bankers to identify the parameters under which the bank would provide expansion support. The integration of this acquisition from a tax perspective was assessed and incorporated into the existing business.
On a no names, confidential basis, EQ approached the target clients to determine which of these would be interested in talking about a potential sale. Two positive responses out of four approaches were received and we proceeded to set up meetings to take things to the next level. Ultimately the company decided that one of the targets was not appropriate but the second deal progressed to completion with a deal being finalised in a period of 10 weeks from the initial approach.
Our supportive, imaginative approach encouraged our client’s ambitions and since that acquisition, a further purchase has been made as the company continues to expand its activities. The property management company has since been restructured for optimum tax efficiency designed to further assist growth.
